My wisteria grows no whips

I brought a wisteria couple of years ago and my new puppy dog ( husky ) ripped it out and chewed it up, I thought it was dead, so I replanted it only 2 inches tall ( it was 10 feet ) so I went out and brought another one about 4 feet tall, forward 2 years on, my old wisteria is about 5 feet tall grows whips and very healthy but no flowers yet, the question I am asking my new wisteria is still same size, grows no whips so I car' t prune it, does have a lot of foliage, they are both in full sun, what do I do to generate growth, or do I have a plant from seed that might never flower.

Please let me know Barney.

  • Hi Teley, Thank you for your advice, the old wisteria has a lumpy bit at the base, the new one is just straight it could be a seedling as you said, I will keep it nourished and wait till spring to decide, I will go out today and get some cherry tree logs for Ember. sounds scrumptious. image

    keep gardening Barney.
