pest or normal?

hello,
can anyone help me? i have been growing several rare maranta or prayer plants... i have recently noticed some roots nodules, like tiny potatoes..upon looking online i read some say that these are caused by nemetodes... and that the necessary pesticide is not readily available.. others say this is normal in maranta roots to be tuberous... totaly confused here, dont want to lose my plants..help!

aaah, that's enlightening , thanks Edd. that photo looks more congested than what i see on plant..
would that cause the plant to die or wilt ?

hopefully i dont get these nemetodes... but if i did... what would be the cure?
