What is this?

Current height is 26" above the surface of the pot.  I've nipped out the growing tip 4 times but it's still growing.  Attached are two photo's of the mother plant.  The 'pea pod' showing contained 5 seeds which I have planted.  One has produced this 'triffid' but what is it - anyone any ideas?

Sorry, don't know. But photos are a bit small and don't enlarge when clicked on. I've replied to push you up to the beginning - someone may have an idea.
