advise please
Hi, can anybody advise me please, I have put some seeds in trays the back end of October (as it said to do on the packets) they are in my small plastic greenhouse, but they have grown about 1ins and they now need pricking out, so do I just leave them in the greenhouse till spring?. Some of the seeds are sweet pea and they have grown about 2ins. thanks...lesley

The sweet peas should be in deepish pots but I just sow them in 9cm pots not that deep really. They'll all slow down now anyway it's going to get a lot colder over the next week so I wouldn't be in a hurry to do anything. If they were in a full GH I'd prick them out but in a small plastic one it may be insufficient to protect them anyway.
Hi Lesley
There's a whole thread on sweet peas:
http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/the-potting-shed/sweet-pea-know-how/820371.html
where David K who seems to know everything you need to about them, and others, will sort you out.
Personally, I'd prick them out into deep pots (taking care not to damage the roots, of course) and leave them in the small plastic greenhouse or cold frame if you have one. Ventilate on sunny winter days. They're hardier than people think.
When they get a few inches high, nip off the tops, which will make them produce more stems and therefore more flowers next summer.
thanks for the help guys
