Delphinium

I had a small cutting, put it outside, then the slugs decided to have a munch.  So I put it in my enclosed porch to recover (which it has) but it's now flowering!  Do I just keep it in the porch until I can plant it out next year (?) or plant it outside, now the slugs have gone?  Many thanks.

Delphiniums are particularly attractive to them Jacy. It'll fare better if it's bigger and stronger before going out. Once you have it outside in the ground, be prepared to get some protection for it once new shoots appear in subsequent springs.

Mention of these lovely flowers (one of the few I really like) always reminds me of A.A Milne's poem which begins...

I found a circle of grit about six inches wide right round each delphinium has stopped any slugs and snails getting to mine, plus slug pellets in the Spring when the shoots are young and juicy.
