RHS Garden
I was happy to read in Garden news that Worlsey New Hall has been selected as the latest RHS garden. My family spent many happy day in the garden centre here, and loved the walled garden. When it was sold to Peel holdings we were really upset, and thought the area would be used for trendy houses. Happy days

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Wow! So pleased that the RHS has decided to create a garden in the north west
I've just registered so I can keep up to date with the progress.
It will be lovely to have an RHS garden within easy reach. I can't leave home for more than a day without making special arrangements, so apart from Harlow Carr I haven't had chance to visit another of their gardens. Though that's not quite true, I have been to Wisley, when I was about 10, so over half a century ago. I can't remember much except the rock garden, but I was already a gardener even then!
This has always felt a somewhat neglected corner of the country, horticulturally speaking, there are so many more great gardens to choose from in the more southern parts. It will be good to feel that we are part of the bigger picture. Tatton has helped, of course, but it comes after Chelsea and Hampton Court and always feels to me as if everyone is a little jaded and lacking in enthusiasm, and the show gardens have been less good for the last few years than they were at the beginning. It will be lovely to have somewhere new to spark interest and energy and be another place to visit.
Sorry, I missed out hitting the space bar
