I was intending to ask about that very activity this morning (already use on compost heap, wasn't sure about using on bags of leaf mould) so now I have my answer image.

Yes I do, as do others.

It's also very good mixed with cardboard.  Fill (tightly) a cardboard carton with other cardboard cartons, dismantled and with their corrugations running vertically.  Add the liquid activator at intervals and wait.  Great stuff.

    Really?!!!?

Well you live and learn! How long do you wait, and then what do you do with it?

OH will be delighted, though he won't admit it...

Wait till it's ready (image) which will be longer in the winter than the summer - a few months anyway.  Use as any other compost, although you might not want it in sandwiches as the late, great Geoffrey Smith advocated.

I have to ask... how on earth did you discover the cardboard box method? Flash of inspiration? Trial and error? Or, er, accidental discovery? image

Read it somewhere.  One of my organic gardening books.  Or possibly that nice Mr Flowerdew on the electric wireless.

I should point out that I haven't done it for several years - not since I had my own garden with a splendid compost area in the bottom corner, shielded by a garage and a shed.  But it worked then - boy did I make good compost in those days! - so it ought to work now.  Happy recycling.

Well played. It does sound rather Flowerdew-ish.
