Ornasmental Trees
My very recently planted Pansy Tree which incidentally was quite expensive very quickly had some form of leaf disease which on close inspection I think was caused by some form of bug. All the leaves have fallen now so it is difficult to know whether my treatment was effective. On inspection of the tree this morning, there is now damage to the bark on the twigs. Does anyone know what this might be and what type of effective treatment I could use?

According to the RHS, verticillium wilt can affect this plant. https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/details?plantid=372
Having made another inspection I am a little doubtful that verticillium wilt is the problem.
A photo of the damage might help. Did you take any photos of the leaves?
