Broken potato stem

In the high winds last night one of my potato stems has virtually broken clean off. Is there anything I can do to repair? They are growing in bags.

Take it off cleanly. If that is the only stem it probably won't regrow. If it is high enough then it should reshoot from below the broken bit.
It's almost at the base, so that sounds bad news doesn't it?
Mmm. Sounds like you're going to be harvesting early.
