so you think the small flowers are the Suckers?

I thought a Sucker would come from below the wanted stem. this pic shows it doesnt.

The lower richt hand stem leads to a few large flowers.

The left hand stem leads to many small buds and flowers

OK, so it's not a sucker then.

image  You say you bought it as a Hybrid Tea rose, but there is only one stem from the roots - could it be a standard instead - with the big flowered rose grafted at the top of the stem and the smaller one is either another type of rose grafted on, or it's been grafted wrongly and the rootstock is flowering too?

It really is a puzzle - can you remember where you bought it from?

Im no expert and it could be a Standard Tea.

I know the chap i got it from but he's a busy man and as i got it from a year ago he wont remember it. I did get it for about £10 as nobody else wanted it but as a novice it seemed a good price for the size and i have 2 more the same that are excellent.

If you like it, keep it. It`s your garden after all and try not to listen to those unhelpful "experts"  ^^  image

£10 is quite a lot for a bare-root HT rose, and quite cheap for a standard rose, so my bet is that it's a grafted standard where the graft went a bit awry - however, you've got two roses that you like, and quite a talking point - if you like it look after it well and I'm sure it will reward you. image
