My mum bought me this gorgeous orchid. I have no experience of them so any tips gratefully received. Can you tell what sort of orchid it is?

Give it a north facing window, out of direct sunlight. Stand it in rainwater with a few drops of orchid fertliser once a week,for an hour. Let it drain and repeat a week later. When the flowers die off, cut the dead spike to a node on the flower stem, it will then reshoot from the cut and flower again.
