Evening walk

nutcutletnutcutlet Posts: 27,441

I've just had stroll round in the fading light. It's fabulous out there. Possibly the first evening that's been warm, dry and still. The blackbirds serenaded me, I can still hear them now. Bats are stirring and chatting in the roof.

Certain plants are really standing out, the white sweet rockets and foxgloves were shining.  Island Sunset iris as well, the colour more saturated in the low light.

If I hadn't seem the weather forecast I would think summer was here at last

I had a midlife crisis about 20 years before I retired, I'd been working for years and years and I'd stil got years and years to work. Thought I'd never stand it but I did.

  • I retired as i moved to the New Forest and my new garden, which was 0.8 acres of blank canvas... lots of fun and pleasure over the years and I now am the owner of thousands of plastic potsimage, my legacy to the world.

Love walking round the garden in the evening - and first thing in the morning too.  Perfect way to start and end a day.image

Daisy, it might be 20yrs now but retirment age keeps creeping up, who knows when we'll retire. In the mean time I'm thinking a shorter working week to fit in all the gardening image

Just got my notice today to tell me I will retire when I am 66. I can't remember stuff now, so I probably won't be able to remember by name by then.
