Which Green Manures

NewBoy2NewBoy2 Posts: 1,813

I have used GM successfully over the last few years to cover areas that are not being used to stop weed spread and enrich the soil after digging in

My fellow allotmenteer has said that there are different types of GM plants and I should take into account what veg I will be sowing after I have cut down and dug in the GM as some veg don't like some types of GM

Comments please

  • I've tried them but it was just too much faffing about for me and require a lot of extra digging so I now mostly use 'no dig' methods but I do make a lot of compost so always have that available as a surface mulch for the worms to work in.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
