I used to practice acupuncture in the NHS. It doesn't work for everybody, but if you are susceptible, it can really help, even if you don't believe in it. A case being OH who had toothache, and was cured in 20 mins! But that is unusual. Often, if you are going to respond to it, it makes the pain flair up after the first treatment.
I used to treat twice a week to begin with and reduce the frequency until a maintenance treatment once every 4 or 6 weeks kept things under control.
