What to do with this lily
My aged mother was given a potted 'Asian Scented Lily' in a pot back in September. The flowers (which, apparently, were white) have died (and now been removed) and it was put out on a sunny balcony and not watered. The compost was bone dry and the roots are very pot-bound but most of the leaves still look pretty healthy. No sign of lily beetles (yet).
I've removed the few dead leaves and put it in a sink of water to try and moisten the compost:
As you may see, it has a new shoot at the base of one of the old stems.
What do I do with it now? Pot on? Plant outside? Compost? Feed it to the nearest cat?

I could, but will that make them flower next year? Anyway, they're not in a field!
(What if I put them on an old-fashioned record player?)
But seriously, folks...... what do I do with it?
I suppose I could gild them. But that would be...
Lyn's OH could help you with that Steve, that's his forté
But what I would do is water it occasionally and just let it die down then put the pot in a quiet corner. In the spring pot it up again in some fresh compost and cross your fingers (oh, and inspect for and squidge Lily beetles in the spring and summer).. That's what we do and they flower every summer.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
That sounds like a plan, Miss M. And that link's helpful too, Pansy.
Thanks, as ever
What about gliding?
That would be this Steve....
oh, and I do the same as Dove with the lilies
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
...er...
And, what about the ravens, too?
as dove said
