is it safe to ask a HF question yet?

I have HF in the front garden but not in back as yet ( that I'm aware of) . I know it lives on decaying wood. Compost heaps contain decaying wood. Does using the compost hasten the spread of hf? Question academic as I've spread compost all over garden anyway!
