Bugbox

Hi, last year the leaf cutter bees used my bug box to place their eggs but still the holes are sealed up!! I was thinking that maybe the larva didn't survive, does anyone have an opinion on this at all?

I would have expected them to have come out by now if they were going to. I'd have a look inside one of them and see.

I will try that then, I guess if it's died I need to get it out so that this years bees can use it. Thanks.
Please do let us know how you get on, I am fascinated by the idea and have been considering it for single bees. We have one that lives under a stone in our alpine bed, a neat tunnel that is sealed every winter - don't know how long solitary bees live, so maybe it is the originals grandchildren - but someone is there. Would love to encourage more to the area.
