As long as we don't get those rains we got caught in them down your way and they never predicted them then I'm now a finger in the air expert do I count?
So, a bird from Siberia flies to the UK and that is meant to be the harbinger of the Ice Age for Britain. Surely it means Britain is going to have a warm winter, the bird is escaping cold weather from it's own country to winter in the mild UK?
All the coldest winters in my long life were preceded by long hot summers, "have I missed something" ? There are masses of berries on the hedgerows around me, the old wives say this is a harbinger of a bitter winter. I shall go into the garden and put some bats and toads in the cauldron see what the future really holds, back soon with the forecast, second thoughts do Tesco sell bats?

I don't think it is the experts predicting the bad winter Verdun, but the gutter press, who only want to publish bad news.
Our regional TV weather man, said it was far too early to talk about winter weather.

Same goes for the BBC guy this morning. far too early to predict.
For short term forecasting if you think tomorrow will be the same as today....chances are you're right!
Do hope so PP cos it's sunny now and "they" say it's all change

Good point well made Mark. It's a load of old toot! Or honk in the case of swans.
Yes it was all based on a single Swan and neither bird experts or weather experts made any claim inferring that it meant a cold winter.
