Hi Guys image this pretty plant is still flowering but the summer pots are getting shabby .I'm not sure where I got it from but it has been a lovely show . Is it from seed or only from plants and please don't tell me it's a weed image

  • A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thanks Bob image it's very tiny no bigger than my little finger nail and I would never have guessed

  • Whoops !  sorry Bob have looked at your link and its not that but they look good though. The flowers are as tiny as forgetmenots. On long stems .

Looks like a viola to me - one of the ones that's more like a violet than a pansy.

Could it be a blue pimpernel?

They have different petal shapes and formation and prominent stamens.  Not Lysimachia monelli aka Blue pimpernel.

Ok, I was wrong - not a viola image

Can you give us a photo of an individual flower a bit closer up please?

    Can you see stamens?

I can't see any stamens on stems  and the flowers are about 1/2 inch across.

  • Don't worry  image I'll see if I can get some seeds off of it  and untill I know different it will be called a Pretty Blue  in the grand scheme that's just what it is and what's in a name . Most of the plants in my garden have Nick names image
