hope you have more luck with oriental poppy than I have - it makes a fantastic plants, many tall stems and huge flowers which open the day before a rainstorm every year, which smashes them down. They should be wonderful, but they seem to have a death wish.

My Oriental Poppy flowered in January one year! Just one bloom but then got frosted. Flowered again properly in June same year.
