Green leaves on my acer

Can anyone help. I've recently re-potted my Japanese Maple doing everything correctly after getting advice from you all on compost and siting etc and now the leaves are growing back but they are green and not red.
Any ideas on what else I'm doing wrong please...

Hi KatyAnn, you're not doing anything wrong.
Depending on variety, new leaves are often green and turn red later. Indeed, on some varieties they start off red and then turn greener later in the year. There is probably more green chlorophyll being produced as a response to the potting-on as the tree tries to make as much food as possible as light levels reduce. It will resume normal behaviour next year.
