White foliage?

VerdunVerdun Posts: 23,348

We have done the black now who's for white foliage in the garden then?  Or almost white?  Miscanthus variegatus, arrhenatherum (always suspect I spell this incorrectly) bulbosum. Liriope blondie, Hosta ...is it White Feather Hostafan?.....,, osteospermum gweek variegated, Hosta fire and ice, heuchera Snowstorm, pittosporum Irene Patterson (I have a variety name forgotten which is even whiter than Irene Patterson) mostly  all usually sited away from midday sun of course. Tulbaghia silver lace can get very silver/ white in mid summer for me too

my ulterior motive for this thread?  Ideas for more whiteish foliage? image

You can have too much variegation.   I like some in darker corners and against darker foliage and in pots by the front doors to brighten up dull winter days.

In French, variegation is called panaché which I find a very good word.  It needs to be used with panache and not to excess.

I am not a fan of some variegated plants,it all seems a bit too much and muddly.

    Verdun, yes , white feather.

I love some variegated plants, esp Hollies. but hate variegated ceanothus and variegated pyracantha. Neither are as good as the all green version. IMHO
