When I can get hold of it I am going to try it in our Wooded area. C. purpurescens has survived and begun to self seed here.

We are in the very West Midlands.

Oh maybe worth a try then if i can find a plant , the seller I was considering buying seed from on ebay has a rare collection of fresh cyclamen seed for sale and repandum is listed in that from Elm Tree Nursery, no longer sells plants it says just seed, don't know if you've heard of them?

My OH did them and 3-4 weeks germination is what he got. They need to be cool and in the dark. So he sowed them in a seed tray and then put the tray in a bin liner. This was using seed that we harvested ourselves as well as bought seed. He reckons it  was 70-80% germination.

Kathy 6, I bought the coum collection from Elm Tree Nursery on ebay last year. Sowed end Oct 2014 and now have masses of 1 leaf seedlings. Pretty good germination, and might have been better if some critter hadn't done the foxtrot in the seed box. image
