I wish there where like bottons to like a lot of your comments and photo's image...

Suprised to learn that the Dordogne is colder and wetter than the uk in winter, husband has harped on for ages since the program on uk TV about the place, he keeps saying we should relocate there!

My roses look like they'll be another 4 weeks before flowering their buds are looking rather small.

I bought loads of double flowered aqualigea's at a £1 each last weekend they are looking great. My delphiniums are just about to flower

At the moment it has to be the foxgloves in the Woodland Corner of our Shady Bank - they are just coming to perfection image

Rodgy- it does look very much like the little flag Irises - had tons of them in the ponds at last house as the rabbits didn't eat them, and I brought one with me here. This new one's about 60cm I'd say - 2' in old money. Incredibly dark, velvety and sumptuous with a very fine golden yellow line and sprinkle on the falls.

I sound like Lawrence LLewelyn-Bowen there image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

My blue sibirica irises.  Was given a large clump 5 years ago, and had no flowers, no flowers, 1 flower, 3 flowers and this year... 15 flowers! Yay!!!! I have to say, though, they're rivalled by the sheer prettiness of the london pride I've got just about everywhere. Was there ever such an obliging little guy?

Brummie Ben, found it's name, it's Sutter's Gold small climber, can also be a hybrid tea. It doesn't show on the photo, but it's buds are flushed red and the young flowers have a reddish tinge on the outside of the petals.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
