I once had a phone call from a neighbour who had a mouse running about her sitting room.

    I said " you've got 4 cats , what are they doing?"

" sitting on the sofa watching it"

    Devon.
  • It was only rain water from the drive that goes in there, blocked with gravel that the boys love to spread around.. and of course "Basil".

Jo - A sort of defence.. I have nothing against cats, and I mostly like them, just their mobile toileting in my garden. However if I could teach Cindy to catch mice she would be just as good - soft and squeazy, companionship, toilet trained....

  • Indeed, Lyn, cats own their humans rather than the other way round but when you have taken in a stray cat, fed it, had it neutered and vaccinated, it becomes your responsibility. We've had a few of those over the years Bless 'em all. they became very contented cats.

  • Well, we still don't know who Cindy is image

I have neighbours who don't particularly like cats but they appreciate the fact that there are cats next door which deter the mice from invading from the surrounding fields.

It is unfortunate that there is not really any guaranteed way of keeping other people's cats out of gardens where they are not wanted. .

  • And Cindy is my other half, and yes unaware of this thread,,,,,  and she does stop me getting into too much trouble

True  the comments for the cats - you cannot stop their wandering but you can hopefully work out how to stop their toileting in your garden
