Yes,thank you I will be nipping down to the greenhouse at least twice a week to water when needed,I shall also keep the vents open at the side slightly.
My new plants (Grasses & Heuchera) are hardy, but coming in 9cm plugs,so will grow on in greenhouse for good roots for the spring planting.
I think if you are only just potting them on into 3" pots, I would keep them in a cold green house, those tiny pots can easily freeze solid. I always keep plants like that in for the first winter.
oh, just read they are plugs, I would most certainly advise you to keep them in the greenhouse, sorry Hosta, maybe because I am that bit colder than you here.
as mentioned before, you can watch for slug damage, still thousands about.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I'm a little confused. Daffy, if the plants were supplied in 9cm pots then, how are you going to pot them on into 3 inch pots? 9cm is bigger than 3 inches. If they are only ready for potting into 3 inch pots then the advice may be different than originally given.
The small plugs of Pennisetum Setaceum Fireworks (grasses) I have potted on into 3 inch pots.
All other Miscanthus collections grasses were in pots (grasses all cut back) with good root balls coming out of the bottom,so I have potted those on into larger pots, and I have now put them all in my large cold frame (tall one fixed to the fence) I have the top open slightly for ventilation.

daffy , you don't want them to grow on , all that young fresh growth will be hit back as soon as you put them outside .
That's why herbaceous stuff "dies down". I needs the rest period.
my point is you don't want them to " grow on"
If they're hardy they'll be fine outside. Even an unheated greenhouse can become very warm.
I opened my unheated polytunnel yesterday at noon and it was 34C in there.
Keep them in the greenhouse by all means, but I'd suggest you keep all doors and windows open at all times.

Will that be ok ?
Pennisetum needs winter protection, I lost my mature plants one winter when I left them planted in a flower bed.
