I would appreciate any thoughts on what tree this might be which we inherited when we purchased our house in NW Cumbria. We thought initially it was an apple or plum tree, but over the past two years it hasn't flowered or produced any seeds/fruit etc. Attached are a number of photos of various scales. I have a few more if needed.

Many thanks!

Just adding a few extra photos. Not sure it's a sorbus aria as it's leaves are much smoother and not as ridged.

Check amongst all that grass and stuff - that has every sign of a fruit tree that has been overtaken by growth from below the graft.  The likelihood is that the graft variety is a poor fruit-producer or needs a pollinator from a group that's not available.
