Thank you all so much. This is what i wanted - contributions to the forum that show how much plant life influences the creative parts of our life.  I write poems inspired by my gardening and "walks on the wild side".  I should have included poetry writing too - who does not quote a "Host of golden daffodils" whenever they mention Wordsworth?   So do not be surprised to see some poetry on this thread.  I love the delicacy of Busy-Lizzie's painting.

This is a boring piece of Ikea furniture.

The painting from which my 'icon' is a detail. Can't get the colours to come out rich enough with a digital camera; will have to try and get some tuition on that.

Artjak, are you a professional artist? Would explain your name too. Your painting is beautiful. I feel honoured to have been complimented by you. I love paintings, but realistic ones. When I was a young student nurse in London I used to spend a lot of my time off in the Tate and the National Gallery.

Tina, we don't all have the same talents, you just have different ones. Doesn't have to be arty, could be cooking, or bringing up children, or just being likeable.
