Need recommendation on potting shed electric heater please
in Talkback
I inherited some of my Dads prize winning Fuchsia and Bonsai earlier this year when he passed away and I am desperately wanting to do the best by these plants over the winter. Dad kept them in a heated greenhouse over winter, I have a shed which is half potting shed (glass windows and plastic see through roof). I want to run an electric heater in there to help the plants along. It's 11x7ft. Any suggestions on a good, reliable and safe to use electric heater? Thanks.

Try an electric fan heater of the greenhouse variety. You can adjust the temperature and fuchsia and Bonsai should be fine at just frost free or a degree or two above - save money on heating costs! I got mine from www.thegreenhousepeople.co.uk , but they are fairly widely available.
I am sure you you will get lots more help on care for these plants from folks on here if you need it. Good luck!
First thing i would do is put bubble wrap on the roof inside as the plastic roof will be very cold in winter plus would save you money on heating.
