Camelia

The leaves on my camelia are turning yellow. It's planted in ericaceous compost and been fed with a slow release camelia fertiliser. Could anyone tell me what it's short of please.

  • Try some iron sequesterne which helps it take up nutrients . Presume you are only giving it rain water.

But returning to plants and stuff - yes, sequestered iron is good, as is liquid seaweed feed.

Thanks for the advice, will get the sequestered iron asap.

  • I have red and white camellias, but we had better not go there again...image

  • The leaves on my Camelia are curling inwards and some are slightly brown.  It was planted this spring with ericaceous compost and was doing fine until about a month ago.  There has been no frost at all. Any ideas?

    Need a photo @jjmoon0 :)
How is it being grown too? Compost alone is no use if it's potted, and they can suffer if they get dried out - even with the amount of rain here  ;)

Have you looked at the foliage to see if anything's in there? They don't generally get bothered by many pests or diseases, but there could be some spider mites in there.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • It's planted in the ground - and yes I've checked and can't see any signs of scale - or anything else

  • I was thinking of maybe spraying it with a neem oil solution

    Have a look here

It's better to identify the problem first, rather than spraying anything  :)
