Plum Tree Thing
Dear Fellow Sufferers
I have a plum tree in its third year but instead of plums it is growing the thing shown in the attached photographs:
Does anyone know what it is and how to stop it. I took it to my local Dobbies but the expert there was mystified.

I dont think that is a plum tree-leaves look wrong
Has it had plums on before? I had a garden bargain cherry tree that had pears on it.
Papayas grow straight off the stems like that
This is caused by a fungus. Taphrina something. My bird cherry gets these. I think they may be known as pocket plums.

I've always assumed mine is Taphrina padi because it's on Prunus padus.
