RJ, I'm afraid I neglected it a bit as it it was the self- seeded, railway embankment type. Apart from regular pruning,I left it to pretty much look after itself. I also reasoned that because there is one growing out of our chimney stack, they could manage on poor dry soil! It was also quite old. Plenty of compost down for the new baby though.

if the buddleia is dead why did it die takes a lot to kill them maybe problem with soil where it is ?
