What type of tree is this?

Can anyone help me identify what type of tree I've got here? Its about 6 feet tall in case that helps:

    Agree - Corylus avellana 'Contorta' the Corkscrew Hazel.  Most attractive in the winter and spring when it loses its leaves and grows catkins. 

    Watch out for and remove suckering growth from below the graft - these have straight stems and will overtake the contorted growth which is much loved by flower arrangers.
