PS someone on yet another forum advised that I won't be able to do anything until next June, whereby I spray with the chemical twice a month until October, then wait for the following year to see what's left, to deal with it perhaps more aggressively, eg pour poison down stems too.
Yes, I know, I've been waiting for the legal company to get into gear, but then I discovered the additional cost to take the case to court that wasn't mentioned up front.
There's lots of knotweed in our area (not in our garden) and we killed a small patch on a bank by a lane by smearing leaves with glyphosate gel, I think it took three or four goes over a couple of years. I'm sure I've read that Autumn is a good time to treat it...don't leave it any longer to start killing it whatever you decide to do in the medium term. Good luck!
Cc120, make sure you take photos - so when it spreads you can prove where it started.
i found some several years ago at the bottom of my garden and rang the council for advice. They said not to panic, it's not as bad as all the press. They'd said to cut it back and burn and then to treat regrowth in the spring. They did the treatment for me by injection for £75. Then I used round up on regrowth after that.
Personally, I'd chase up the housing association - they'd should be able to get the professional to deal with it. However you don't want it to encroach on you in the meantime. I have noticed though that it seems to get more vigorous when attacked.

Hi pansyface, according to someone on: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5335377&highlight=
'It is true that the boundaries to a house are "general boundaries" normally and therefore only exact to +/- eighteen inches either way.'
It's all very well going all gungho into court, only to have that pointed out to me?
So do you mean contact him with all facts before I do anything pansyface?
Pansyface, I just saw your message above (Today at 21:02) which outlines what you think I should do. thank you for your help.

And you've lost another year. This is going to take longer to eradicate, the more you prevaricate. If cost is the problem, keep writing letters.

Thank you Buddyboy, I will be sure to read the professional advice on progreen, do they cover the injection method, how to?
