Is my Hibiscus dead ?

KornoKorno Posts: 99

Hi I bought my Hibiscus in a pot in summer from Aldi and it had 1 blue/purple flower on it which dropped after about 3 weeks, it's never had a lot of leaves really but still more so than what is there now, it doesn't seem to have grown bigger in any way at all either.
Does it look like it's dead ?
Pictures are 1 from day of purchase and the others I took just now.

  • They are slow to establish and don't really start doing anything until the second year.  They need a sunny spot to do well and flower.  It might be a bit dry there too, planted close to the wall - I would have planted it a bit further out.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Oh that's good to hear it isn't dead, I forgot to just mention It's in a south facing garden.
Should I dig it up and nudge it outwards a bit?

  • If it's not been planted long then you could move it otherwise you'll just need to remember to water it regularly. image
