Peas and beans

I have got a load of finished peas and beans. I have been told to leave the stalks and roots in to decompose to add nitrogen to the soil. The area is now full of weeds. Should I leave them as well until it's time to clear the bed and replant, or will they do more harm than good by taking out the nutrients the legumes are putting back in?

I would remove the weeds by either pulling them out or digging them up if you dig the pea roots out too just re-bury them.
