Weigela florida rosea help

Hello everybody

I planted a new Weigela florida rosea this spring in my garden and so far it has settled in just fine - but i have no idea what to do with it.  It has not flowed this year but has become quite droopy (see picture), should i prune it? or tie it up?  there is plenty advice on what to do with an established plant but no advice on what to do with it for its first year

They grow very big, by next summer it could be three ft in all directions, they every year much bigger,  you may want to move it away from the fence by a couple of feet before it gets too established.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
