Animal droppings identification

Would someone kindly identify the animal droppings. It is causing havoc in my garden - digging out the flower bulbs which I had meticulously planted recently and leaving holes. In my of my big pots it almost removed a big chunk of the the soil out.

Those look like wormcasts to me - unlikely to be moving flowerbulbs unless you have very big worms indeed image

Squirrels love flower bulbs - any of those around?

To get around the problem make cages of small guage wire netting to put groups of bulbs in, and dig a hole and plant the whole thing.

    Hope that helps image

  • Ah ok!

Thanks, that makes sense. I think you are right these are indeed wormcasts. I know the soil is rich with worms.

I don't think  squirrels are moving the soil. I don't see them around my area. Whatever it is, it went straight for the bulb, took it out and left it next to the hole.

    Cheers

The picture doesn't show bird droppings - bird droppings have white in them which is the urea as birds don't urinate separately.

It's also much too small for pigeon droppings, and zooming in shows it to consist of soil particles.
