Overwintering fuschias in hanging baskets

Hi there

I have various fuschia hanging baskets which are now by there best. Normally I would bin them and buy new next year, but this seems such a waste.

If I cut them back and left them in the hanging baskets, kept them in a dark frost free enivroment, would they come back next year.

Yes, they should be ok.  I overwinter lots of fuschias and rarely lose one.  They don't need to be kept in the dark, just frost free.  I give mine a little water occasionally over the winter.  Nothing regular just every so often and only a very little.

I have tried two systems.  One is hanging the baskets in the greenhouse which works well as long as they don't freeze in a cold winter and the other is transferring them to a window box on a table in the attic under a window.   The latter is guaranteed frost free but you have to remember to go and water occasionally.

Thanks for the advice, I will give them a try in the attic. A place I never thought of. Thanks again.
