hello, does anyone know if these poppy heads will ripen now they are off the plant, so that I can plant the seed?
thanks
nothing to lose. I'd stick them in a paper bag and leave somewhere dry, garage, shed etc.
I wonder if the old " ripe banana" trick might work?
Thanks Welshonion. I'll give it a go. They are from a beautiful deep red poppy that was growing by the road side when we went out on a bike ride today. Would love it to grow in my wild area.

Some pods don't have holes in them so you will have to break the pod open when they are fully dry and just scatter the seeds.
