Desperate to know what berries I've picked...
in Fruit & veg
I picked what I thought to be two kilos of sloe berries at the weekend but a close friend has said they're definitely not sloe's. If anyone on here knows their berries... Can you let me know your email address and I'll send some pics? It's a shame I can't post a pic on here?

Looks like laurel to me. Definitely not sloes. Are the leaves very thick and evergreen looking witha smell when crushed.
Don't eat them
In the sticks near Peterborough
I agree the leaves do look like Laurel.
I agree with Nut. Berries contain a cyanide compound.
Where do you find sloe's?! I've looked all over Surrey.
I find them on the hedges by the river or canal side. Old hedges are best.
I'm glad you didn't make gin and cyanide.

Doing well in the Newark area also; we have several trees around our small area.
