Berberis
I have a rather sick looking 6 foot tall Berberis bush that is well established having been in place for about 20 years.
Normally at this time of year it looks really good with red leaves, but this year most leaves have gone and those left appear to have a blueish fungal growth and the rest of the bush looks dead but if you cut a stem it is still green inside.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sawfly larvae have probably eaten the leaves and berberis do get mildewed if too dry. At this stage I'd wait and see what looks lively in spring. They can take any amount of cutting back, if necessary
In the sticks near Peterborough
Thanks
