Good idea?

just back from the shed to avoid the rain. Whilst I was in there and feeling a bit bored, I was looking at some of those rather expensive metal plant supports [ the ones with 2 legs and a U shaped piece on top to support the plant ] I realised that with 2 garden canes which when cut have holes through the middle, I could thread thick wire between the canes and bend into required shape. I think they will work and are very cheap to make.

I made my own supports with thin metal rods I got from a builders' merchant.  Cut to length and then bend round a tree trunk or railway sleeper.  Easy peasy and cheap and lasts for ever.
