How long should i let picked viola/pansy seeds dry out for?

Hi all

my mam just showed me how to pick the seeds from dead viola heads, she sais i should let them dry out and keep them for next year, she was unsure how long to let them dry out for though so can anyone clarify this for me please?

    Are they brown and falling out of the seed heads? If so they won't take much drying. Or you could sow them. Might get another lot of flowers before next year

  • They werent exactly falling out, the dead head needed a tiny squeeze and then they came out, they are a creamy colour And look like they need a while to dry out, how dried out do they need to be exactly please?

    creamy colour isn't ripe for pansies. They go darker than that. I don't think these are ready to be harvested.
