Using lawn weed killer, iron sulphate and lawn fertilizer at the same time

    Yeah.  You're supposed to use hollow tines and remove the cores (they'll be goodish loam so use them to make potting compost).  If you can be bovvered.

    Personally I'd get rid of the conifers (cypress?) and plant nicer trees elsewhere, if you have an elsewhere to put them.  If you can arrange for them to cast their shade somewhere it doesn't matter, so much the better.  If not, birch is good as their shade is only dappled.  The grow quickly too, and don't get too enormous. And they look nice.

    You can get grasses that will tolerate shade, but the dense shade cast by yer average garden conifer will do for it.  The fallen needles aren't good either.

  • The trees along the edge are not conifers - i'll find out what they are but they bear some kind of small plum type of fruit. I like them being there because at least in the summer they stop my neighbours from looking in to my windows. 

    Also the very big needle dropping trees are very very big. I don't think i'd be allowed to cut them down even if i wanted to. I'll find out what they are and post it on here.
