Mecanopsis poppy bog garden

Hi, I have a raised pond and have floating plant baskets for growing plants in it. I was wondering if I could grow a mecanopsis poppy in one, or would it be too wet for it to sit in all the time? Thanks

  • I think mecanopsis poppies prefer moist well drained soils, ours, Cambrensis certainly do, grow in shaded areas as well, we have some under trees, but not too wet.

Far too wet I am afraid. Moist soil yes, bog no! Mine grow in a cool place, semi - shade, in a leaf mould enriched soil.
