Tulip bulbs

I picked up 2 bags of 10 mixed tulips they got bit wet but thought not much of it  and stored them in the shed.. however when I opened them they were/are like this

So I start pulling the bitsoff to see how much damage there is, it seems as if the bluey mould is just on the outside. The bulbs have grown small bulblets which pretty much fell apart when the outer skin was taken off, now I read that daughter bulbs take years to mature on their own, which is fine I got patience.. but are they supposed to split like this? Bare in mind there was only 10 in there..

The bottom plate is a lil mushy on a few but the bulbs seem fine. Can I plant them? Should I bother unwrapping the other lot or just plant them or stop what I'm doing and forget them? Cheers

They are perfect Linny, but you don't plant tulips until well into November. As they are still a bit small, I would put them in tubs, or window boxes.

  • Oh dear I done 2 of those layered pots yesterday.. oops. Haven't put these in yet so will wait but with the other pot of damp tulips should I pull the old skin off or leave them? I can see they have all split into smaller ones too..
