around 5 years ago my son planted some sunflowers of which they grew, which he was over the moon so to speak I left them to seed and forgot all about them as they never came up again out of mind so to speak until a few weeks ago I noticed a strange plant growing next to my roses wasn't sure what it was so I left it and guess what its a sunflower how strange after all these years to show up

It could be from the seed that dropped off your sunflowers years ago or maybe the birds brought it. I get quite a few plants from the birds; violets, hellebores, privet, thorn apple, things without names. Its all interesting.
