Skimmia with blotchy leaves

I have 2 Simmia plants about 2 feet high tat I planted last year in pots. They are the ones that have the scarlet berries. They have over-wintered in a semi-shaded place. Lots of new leaves have sprouted but instead of glossy dark green they are a bit yellowy/pale green in colour. What is the cause and what can I do?

Lack of iron in the soil, a good dose of ericaceous feed and only using rainwater will help it along.
