Flower Carpet Rose

Advice please. My cerise 'Flower Carpet' rose wants to take over the world.It's been in about 5 years but is now about 5ft x 5ft and is too big for it's space.Shall I move it or give it a severe pruning.I was planning on cutting it back to about 12 inches but not sure how it would respond.When would be the best time to do this?

    Hi Nadia2 the best time is in spring if you do it now it will encourage it to make more growth but bad for this time of year because it will get frost damage. I wouldn't cut it that much maybe 2.5ftimage
